INTERNATIONAL OPEN ACCESS WEEK AT UNS

Published: 18 October 2017

International Open Access Week is a global event entering its eighth year which will take place in October 23 – 29, 2017. It is an excellent opportunity for the academic and research community to learn about the benefits of Open Access and share their experience among themselves. Open Access refers to the free and online access to results of scholarly research and the right to use and re-use those results. The University of Novi Sad will participate in the International Open Access Week and take action to promote Open Access as the potential to increase the visibility and use of published research.

The University of Novi Sad invites all interested students, researchers and professors to learn about the activites and goals of the ERASMUS+ projects BE-OPEN and Re@WBC which will take place on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in the Amphitheatre at the Central University Building at 12 o’clock.

A Survey on Open Science was distributed among Serbian researchers within the BE-OPEN project during spring this year. The results of the survey has provided a basis for the creation and revision of Open Science policies at national and institutional level and will be also presented at the event on Tuesday.

As a part of the agenda, one more presentation will be provided related to the iThenticate plagiarism detection software which has been already started to be applied at the University of Novi Sad from October this year.
